Sylvan Lake has been home to Betty for 60 years, attending school with H.J. Cody as vice principal, and Steffie Woima as her grade 5 teacher. Betty currently works in schools as an educational aide, instructs first-aid courses for Red Cross, and teaches yoga, barre and bootcamp classes at Motion Fitness in Red Deer. Since a young age both theatre and music have been part of her life. She performed at Kiwanis festivals, local theatre productions (CAT, RDC, Thurber) in Choirs (RDC, at her Church) and her originally created clown characters appeared in many parades, street festivals and jamborees around Alberta. Betty is thrilled to join the Theatre Trail and share a story.

Perle is grateful that Sylvan Lake theatre is so close to home. She has enjoyed the many classes that have been offered over the years and will be practicing her skills with Sylvan Lake Theatre Trail, after stage managing Bachelor Party last year and more recently 52 Pick-Up. She fits this in amongst community involvement, farming, gardening, horse hugs and enjoying all her fur babies. She has been seen in the odd commercial, music video and short film and this year story telling on the SL Theatre Trail. A definite switch from her banking career and business owner.

Alyssa is a storyteller for Sylvan Lake’s Theatre Trail. She has been acting for years with previous credits including Concord Floral (Theatre Junction), Invisible too (Handsome Alice), and Pouf! (Central Alberta Theatre). Alyssa completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge alongside her education degree. When not acting she enjoys directing as HJ Cody’s theatre teacher and is an instructor of Sylvan Lake Theatre’s Creative Kids camp. Her directing credits include Clue, Little Women and Alice @ Wonderland. She is incredibly excited to be a part of the 2025 Sylvan Lake Theatre Trail and hopes you enjoy all the stories that Sylvan Lake has to share.
